As part of the Presbyterian Church USA, we “affirm that God comes to us with grace and love in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose for us so that we might have eternal and abundant life in him. As Christ’s disciples, called to ministry in his name, we seek to continue his mission of teaching the truth, feeding the hungry, healing the broken, and welcoming strangers.”
Mission & Purpose
Southminster Presbyterian Church is a member of Presbyterian Church USA. We are an inclusive church, supporting all individuals in their faith journeys, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. We believe church is about coming together as a community of faith to glorify God, to nurture one another, and to extend God’s love to the world. Our vision and mission are to connect people to faith, and to encourage the active love of God and neighbor.
Sunday mornings typically begin with adult education classes during the school year, followed by a worship service at 10:00 AM, including songs (old and new), prayer, scripture, and an engaging message. Elementary and preschool children leave part way through the service for Children and Worship.
We encourage everyone to participate in activities throughout the week: Team meetings, various classes, and support groups. Also, we continue to focus on local, regional, and global missions through volunteerism and/or financial support. Our church community is often inspired by those who are learning how to grow their own faith.
